In 1921 John B Butterworth and George Ashley established the firm of Butterworth Ashley & Co in Bristol. Shortly after this, John B Butterworth began to widen his field of operation, and after various changes in offices and partnerships, the firm of Butterworth Jones was founded. Since then the practice has incorporated several highly regarded partnerships and grown to one of the largest independent West Country firms of chartered accountants with 9 partners,8 offices and nearly a hundred staff. Over the years the firm, like many of its clients, has seen many changes in the world of business. We are constantly adapting to these changes and with our wealth of experience are well suited to help clients to meet these challanges both now and in the future.
