From Our Website
Hugh Davies & Co looks after and supports a particular segment of society, the small business community - men and women working in a diverse selection of trades and professions who have taken the personal responsibility to make their own way in business rather than become employees of someone else. It is tough in business, but potentially very rewarding. We help our clients to navigate the regulations, keep their noses clean, and avoid paying more tax than they need to. Hugh Davies arrived in Salisbury in 1986 and was a partner in a number of firms before setting up his own practice in 2001.
Hugh specialises in business and tax planning. He knows his way around Sage and Xero and is happy to roll up his sleeves from time to time. Cooking, music and drinking wine (often at the same time) are what relaxes him after a hard day in the office! Karen manages the accounts department, supervising members of the team, and likes meeting and working with clients. If she threw a dinner party and could invite anyone her top two guests would be Mr Kipling and Dolly Parton! Michael manages the personal and company tax affairs of our clients and has recently completed his CTA studies Outside of work his young family keeps him out of trouble.
We are here for you. We use our experience and specialist knowledge to help you and your business. We offer a broad range of services, but it is much more than the standard accounting, tax and business advice. It is about being available to help you, understanding your business and tax needs and providing you with the peace of mind that these important matters are dealt with by people you can trust.

You may not even think it will but are you aware that any services you buy from the EU will be subject to the 'Reverse Charge' mechanism? Under this mechanism, even though your supplier may not have charged you VAT you may still have to declare Output VAT on the invoice at the UK VAT rate in box 1 and then reclaim it as input VAT in box 4. Another raft of incentives and give-aways to support the economy at a critical junctureas we emerge from lock-down and anticipate the ending of the job retention scheme.
