From Our Website

Farrell & Co are an established and friendly firm of Accountants, based out of Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. We are proud of our ability to provide our valued clients with access to most aspects of financial advice and planning, making use of our own network of contacts including IFA's, solicitors and financial organisations. We have a flexible fee structure offering both a fixed Service and time based plan. We are willing to meet you outside working hours and over the weekend. We offer a free initial consultation - with no obligations attached.

All taxation is handled by experienced staff specifically recruited from the various government tax offices. Their vast knowledge contributes greatly to our overall service and gives the Account Managers ample opportunities to discuss tax saving initiatives with clients throughout the year. If there is a way to save you money, they will find it! Corporate taxation is quite a diverse subject and is not only about completing end-of-year returns. That is why we give all our new clients a FREE taxation health check by looking at how each individual business is set up.

Our clients can choose from a broad range of Payroll services allowing them to tailor their specific requirements. This can give big savings compared to "a one price for all" approach favoured by most Accountants. Many of our larger clients (and some small) prefer to do their own payroll and use Farrell & Co for advice on trickier PAYE/NI issues. Although, the Inland Revenue are making big efforts to improve their level of service, our clients prefer the immediate and personalised responses they receive from us.

If you are not an Accountant, then starting a new venture is a very daunting task. Apart from having to implement a system to monitor business transactions, regulatory requirements have to be met. The best way (based on feedback from clients) we can help you, if you are considering a Start-up venture, is to give you the confidence and freedom to go out and generate revenue without having to worry about administration issues. That's what you will pay us to do. We take a genuine interest in the performance of all client businesses.

To maximise profits and make life that little bit easier for them, Accountants will try and put "square pegs into round holes", often to the disadvantage of their client. We prefer to offer a broad range of Plans, which our clients can choose from. Even these are fine tuned to give maximum benefit. If all you want is a set of Year End Accounts and a simple Tax Assessment, you shouldn't have to spend half your profits for the privilege. If you run a simple business where: revenue and costs are consistent throughout the year compared to previous years; and you can judge the profitability of the business, then it is unlikely you need Interim Management Accounts.

If you are looking for your first Accountant or thinking of changing, it can be quite daunting since the majority of Accountants can appear the same. To help you with this, we have included, below, some reasons of what makes us a little different from your archetypal Accountant. Please feel free to contact us. Our clients tell us we are a friendly "bunch", always willing to help. They feel we offer value for money and a level of service uncommon amongst Accountants, which we are very proud of. A relationship with your Accountant doesn't have to resemble your worst meeting with the Taxman, you know!

As you would expect we offer a full range of bookkeeping services, what Accountant doesn't. Sometimes we are given a cardboard box and a promise everything has been sent. On other occasions, we are required, on-site, to carry out full bookkeeping services in the absence of any full time staff. Either way, one of our key objectives will always be to try and add value over and above the obvious. For example, by looking at your suppliers, we may be able to recommend alternative, and more cost effective options.

I hope you have found what you are looking for, if not, then please contact either, myself, or one of my colleagues and we will be glad to answer any of your questions. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant nearly 20 years ago and spent my formative years at several top 50 of the UK's leading Firms as well as Ernst & Young. I have worked for various banking & financial services organisations throughout Europe, notably: Poland, The Netherlands and Luxembourg. Having been CFO of bank, I understand how difficult it is to cope with the demands of the global financial crisis for both businesses and individuals.
