Mr. Scholtke is an honours graduate of Durham University. Straight after graduating, he won, by open competition, the distinction of obtaining a Durham University private research studentship. For his research thesis he obtained an M.A. from Durham University. Mr. Scholtke went on to 3 year articles with a firm of Chartered Accountants and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. After obtaining varied experience from several firms of chartered accountants he received various offers of senior lecturer in accountancy and obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Business Studies) from London University, but decided to return to practice.
