| Key skills: | ACCA QUALIFIED, MEMBERSHIP nO- 1384689 SKILLS I am applying for this job because I feel that the responsibilities that I have undertaken in my earlier jobs do provide a match to the responsibilities that I can take up at 1Accounting systems and Control -At the Bradford Council I did was responsible for the coding , maintenance, monitoring and reporting of the expenditure made on the Capital Schemes and the grants available against the schemes -At Bradford council and at the Bradford Airdale and teaching PCT I have worked on the year end reconciliations , control accounts reconciliation , doing the year end journals and assisted the strategic manager with the specific notes to accounts -In India when I did work for the chartered firms I have done Vat returns. -I did set up new capital Schemes on the SAP system with the Bradford council And had made sure all the spend against the Schemes were properly coded and recorded. 2. Annual Budget - Prepared the Indicative Budget for Practice based Commissioning for the Consortia and Locality. -Did the Ledger work on the Oracle application Software (11i) 3. Board and Management Reporting Prepared performance reports by practice (Cost wise) and by specialty (Activity wise) on a monthly basis with the reasons as to why there has been a deficit / surplus -Worked on with the Managers on the business plan as to which of the targets could act the key performance indicators and so that the incentives could be based on those measures -Prepared the Business Cases Analysis for the Practice based Commissioning team by comparing the Services and the cost offered by the hospital and the General Practitioners -Worked on the DES (Directed Enhanced Services) for governing the practices that have met the target set for the incentives to be achieved. 4. Corporate - Had attended IFRS Courses organised by the Council so that could implement the same in the transition phase from UK GAAP to IFRS. -Read the SORP policies and procedures to implement the same in the statutory year end Accounts for the tangible and Intangible Assets. -ad provided complete guidance as to the activities of the PCT and mentored the Employee who had joined the team. So Professionally I decided to do ACCA degree as it would enhance and add value to my professional career. It added a lot of value to my professional knowledge database. Also I do value human behaviour a lot .Its is only your networking and interaction with people that can help you achieve a lot in life. Take ownership and responsibility I do operate from an employer mentality and not an employee mentality professionally and personally. Be it small things like switching off the lights in the office to introducing pivot tables so that a lot of time can be saved, I have always thought like its my own office or projects. I like to suggest new ideas to my seniors and my sub-ordinates. Be a great team player While doing the year end work I have always made sure to coordinate with the whole team to get things like reconciliations done. Also during audit by acting as a team and providing the required support to the external and the internal auditors. Be customer focused In my professional roles, whomever I am expected to report or anyone who needs information from me I do view them as prospective customer. I make sure that they are comfortable asking me any questions and I can always provide them with the best possible solutions. Be it my peers in the office or my managers I do make sure they have the confidence that I would go out of my to take additional responsibilities, in case I need to cover up for someone’s absence , etc Achieve high standards I do like to try doing things in new ways so that the standard of expectation can be raised. If I am capable of introducing new approaches like in my earlier office reports were done the traditional excel way which used to take more time. But with the introduction of pivots, we did start using the same for other jobs like doing the annual returns, etc which raised the standard of the ways things were being done. cntinuously improve I like to keep myself always updated be it software or a professional degree or going on Courses. I did make sure that I was good on SAP and Oracle when I was working with the NHS. Also I continuously improved my excel skills while working on the budgets at the Kirklees PCT. Also I did go on IFRS courses at the council to keep myself updated and be useful when the transition phase goes on floor . |
