| Job description: | Fantastic Opportunity to work for a global UK based FMCG company with eminent room for advancement. The UK finance department is a high profile team of 20 people based in Twinings' Head Office in Andover. This exciting position has come about due to an internal promotion. This is a key role for the UK Finance team and as such reports in to the Chief Accountant. This is an opportunity to influence and support senior management, educate the business in different areas including compliance and to strategically position yourself for career advancement in the future. In summary, this is a varied role that takes responsibility for all UK statutory issues, all internal financial controls, UK forecasting and the maintenance of the regulatory accounting framework. You will also be responsible for a junior member of staff who will assist you in all areas. Duties include control of all Balance Sheet Accounts as well as the periodic consolidation of the legal entity balance sheet; in essence bringing the balance sheet to life. You will also play a major part in preparing the forecast with the business and liaising with managers to collate your data. In addition, the role will involve analysing variances against forecast and budget. Finally, you will be heavily involved in preparing Year End Print and Statutory Accounts. In keeping with the broad nature of the role, part of the job will also be to ensure compliance with all Direct and Indirect Tax Legislation, involving Corporate Tax, Income Tax, Class I A National Insurance & VAT/VAT Returns. A position of this level will have a large amount of exposure to senior management across the business, which makes it an ideal and pivotal point for advancement either in the UK or internationally. This role is a fantastic entry point into Industry for an ACA or ACCA newly qualified individual who is looking to build a career outside of Practice. You will have studied and gained your qualification in a small to medium size Practice and thereby built up a broad range of technical skills. |
| Duties & Responsibilities: | Successful candidates will: Be a Qualified Accountant - ACA or ACCA Have worked in an Accountancy Practice Demonstrate extensive technical accounting and financial analysis skills Have an understanding of UK Corporate tax issues Have a good understanding of ERP systems i.e. MFG/Pro Be happy to work from home occasionally Be self motivated with the ability to take initiative and ownership Have excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. |
